You Me At Six- "Liquid Confidence (Nothing To Lose)" Cover Analysis

Liquid Confidence (Nothing To Lose) Cover Analysis
The images shown in the 'Liquid Confidence' music do not reflect the lyrics sang in the song. This randomness is mirrored in the single cover as the images show no immediate reference to the lyrics, video or meaning of the song, however, by continuing the random theme throughout all the 'You Me At Six' franchise they are creating an unconventional intertextuality. The background is a plain, light, neutral colour which may show that the band are not influenced by any other artist. The plain colour also makes them seem quite mature or maybe it is a representation of their target audience which would make their target audience both males and females and of no specific age. The vibrant colours on the front however, show a more youthful side to the band and therefore may attract a younger audience as vibrant colours generally appeal to a younger market. The band name is in large, bold capital letters to show that the band are proud of who they are and that they are bold characters that stand out, as the black font stands out from the beige background. The song title is in a fancy serif font and is also in italics, and has adds a touch of femininity to the single cover. The femininity is also shown through the images of the flowers and the pink flash that is used.
